The Newest Zerion Team Member

February 25, 2011

Images are 95px by 95pxWe are pleased to announce that Zerion has taken on its newest – and youngest – team member! Tony King and his wife Kelly welcomed Carson Jude King on February 4 at 3:22 pm. Carson weighed 8lb. 3 oz. and measured 19 1/2 inches at birth. He joins big brother Spencer, 21 months. Tony said, “We’re thrilled to have this new blessing in our lives; but, if you called or emailed and I didn’t get back to you as fast as I normally would, it’s because I’ve been buried in two sets of diapers and tears!”

Staffing Up Sales

January 25, 2011

If you know Zerion, you know Tony King. As the primary salesperson, as well as a consultant and owner, he’s often the face of the company. And, often one busy man. So, he’s decided that he isn’t too proud to ask for a little help.

Tony’s focus since the inception of Zerion has been on developing and maintaining communication with customers. Keeping in touch, ensuring customer satisfaction, and looking for opportunities is a passion. But, as the business grows and the economy improves, it’s getting harder to do it as well as he’d like. For the New Year, Tony’s decided to call in some reserves. While he’ll still be actively and deeply engaged with the customer base, Joel Gordon and Jon Moyer will be on the front lines. As such, we thought you’d like to meet the guys who just may be giving you a ring in the coming months.

Images are 95px by 95pxJoel will be responsible for managing the current and past customer base. He’ll work alongside Tony to make sure “we’re there” for all of our customers as comprehensively and proactively as possible. Joel’s background is in technology, having worked in both supply chain management and medical manufacturing. He has a BS Degree in Business Administration and has also served as a sales executive for SAP Business One software. Joel mentioned, “I’ve known Tony for some time and have curiously watched how he manages his customers. I can see what a huge priority it is for him and I’m truly honored to be able to participate in that process, especially with a company that is so clearly committed to its customers.” Joel is a lifelong musician; and, he and his wife Kim are expecting their first child this summer.

Images are 95px by 95pxJon’s role is to make contact with potential new customers and introduce them to the benefits and services that an independent consulting firm like Zerion can provide. Jon started his own business development company in 2007, specializing in software sales. He majored in Business Management at Temple University and is a Philadelphia native who now resides in Los Angeles.

Welcome Joel and Jon!

Power Bolt and Tool: A Small Company Soars

June 29, 2010

Images are 95px by 95pxWhen a small company makes a big purchase, they want to be certain they’re doing the right thing. As was the case with Power Bolt and Tool when they bought Eclipse. But, with the economy in an unexpected slump, and the system not working to its fullest capacity, their confidence crashed. When Zerion came to them with the idea of an E.Z. Support program (to provide support for small companies), it proved to be all the company needed to re-gain its flight, and its belief in Eclipse. Lane Garrett, owner of Power bolt and Tool, remarked, “As soon as Tony stepped onboard, I knew we’d made the right decision. I knew that Eclipse would work for us, and my confidence was totally restored. We could do everything we dreamed. Now we could fly our Boeing 747.” Download their story …

Big or Small, Zerion Does it All

March 30, 2010

Images are 95px by 95pxOur newsletter this month leads with a success story about Independent Electric Supply, one of the largest electrical wholesalers in the country. Yes, it’s true, we have some big clients. And, we love them. But, our heart is even bigger for the small ones. After all, we’re a small business. We know what it’s like to feel less than top dog. We know what it’s like to feel like our needs aren’t the most important. So today we’d like to make sure all of the small Eclipse customers know: we’re here for YOU, and we have a program just for YOU.

We’d like to introduce our E.Z. Support Program! Eclipse will be Easier for you and your team with ongoing remote support from Zerion. Like we said, E.Z.

You pay a small, monthly fee; and, in return you’ll receive ongoing, quick access to our team via e-mail, phone and webinars for Eclipse-related questions, training, problems and consulting. When you get in touch with us, you call a real human directly. And you become our most important focus at that moment. I personally guarantee it.

It’s not expensive. It’s not complicated. There’s no bureaucracy. There’s no hassle. It’s simply the Eclipse help you need, when you need it … no matter how big or small you are. Check out the clients we recently signed. Will you be next?

From the Desk of Tony King: A Winter Rewind

February 25, 2010

Images are 95px by 95px Ahh, the Winter Olympics! Many of us have spent the last few weeks immersed in the excitement, tragedy and beauty of this season’s biggest event. It takes me back just a few short years ago to when we all were watching the Summer Olympics. Alonzo wrote an article about the “Zerion Olympics” we perform for our clients. He said, “… all that time on the couch got me thinking – between the widely-celebrated opening ceremonies, the massive scheduling and production, and the amazing athletic performances, everyone involved with the Olympics spent a great deal of time preparing for one of the biggest moments of their careers. But, most people don’t think about the work, they only focus on the result. It’s the same with ERP software installations and business management consulting.“ He added, “The goal of partnering with us is often to increase gross margin, standardize processes or streamline operations;, but what it takes to get there is the accomplishment.”

Pretty profound, eh? (Get it, “eh”? Vancouver Olympics? Anyone?! Okay, nevermind.) I’m not trying to toot our own horn; but, I did enjoy reflecting on this piece and getting some warm fuzzies about the work we’ve done for clients over the past four years.

He closed with another gem, “While it may not be as impressive or exciting as the events of the last few weeks, it’s as if we participate in our own little Olympics every day. When we walk away from a company that is operating more efficiently because of us, we feel like a gold medal team. And I think that’s something to be proud of, even without the worldwide applause.”

Even though our archives are packed with good content, I don’t refer back to past newsletters very often (though I found I kind of liked it, so maybe I should do it more often!).  Apparently this month is special, because I also referenced a past column in this month’s feature on purchasing. As business owners and managers, sometimes we realize that the tried and true approach is the best. Other times, we have to test out something new, like tweaking the training offerings for the UFO this year, introducing a new tool to run your business better, or printing a second pick ticket for your wire room or yard. So, all in all, I guess what this month’s newsletter is about is finding what works and sticking with it; yet always being open to new opportunities and methods. I hope you do the same in your business.

From the Desk of Tony King: New Look for 2010

January 28, 2010

Wow! So, it’s 2010. Where has the time gone? My holidays were especially joyful this year. Celebrating with a child for the first time was very special. I hope you too had a memorable season and that you got both our Top 10 Eclipse Countdown and our holiday card at the end of last year. Our big news this month is that we have a brand new e-newsletter design. READ MORE

Our big news this month is that we have a brand new design for Zerion’s e-newsletter. The newsletter has looked the same since we launched it in 2007; and, while I loved the look and have some sentimental feelings about it, I am ready for a change. With this, we are introducing “The Link” Zerion blog, which will become the home for our newsletter’s stories and will serve as a place where we can post news and information throughout the month. Indeed, change is exciting! I’d love to hear what you think about our new look.

I’m also happy to announce a new team member. A new hire is a great way to start our the year. And, I’m really looking forward to filling in for some of you so that you can attend Summit this March.

I have no doubt that 2010 is going to be a year of rebuilding, growth and better times. Cheers!
